Her music carries a message of spiritual elevation, equal rights and justice, with powerful instrumentation provided by the creativeRon Benjamin, her Musical Director and Producer of 4 of her 5 albums. He is also the founder of Midnite. Ron is one of the most influential musicians of the past three decades, being responsible for putting The tiny Island of St. Croix on the world’s great music map. Supported by the Bagattels band, his live performances are soul-stirring experiences. Together, they embark on a musical journey through covers of artists like Ben Harper, Bob Marley, and Gary Clark Jr., delivering soulful interpretations that embody the spirit of soul, blues, funk, and reggae.
Jah Live
In 1998, four young individuals from Brasília came together to create garage music. In the first year, the band began opening for local acts, leading to opportunities at nationally and internationally recognized events and paving the way for a successful nationwide tour.
Jah Live, still independently, recorded a live show that sold over 20 thousand copies, solidifying their position among Brazil’s top reggae bands. With Jah Live’s exponential growth, the first record label willing to produce them emerged, resulting in the album “Se Curvar Jamais” (Never Bow). The album spawned hits like “Livres na Cidade” (Free in the City), heavily played on the country’s main radio stations, fostering audience engagement and emotional connection at their shows—a trademark of their performances.
The success of “Se Curvar Jamais” led to the release of “Nossa Vida” (Our Life) in 2008 and subsequent singles. In 2023, they released singles such as “Reunião” (Meeting) and “Filhos de Jah” (Children of Jah), many of which were re-recorded and naturally embraced by audiences at their shows.
Their appearance on TV Globo’s “Toca Brasília” program, reaching over a million viewers, cemented the band’s success and cultural impact in Brasília.
